No subdivision of engineering today is a stand-alone field; the approach to studying it is multi-disciplinary. Biomedical engineering is no exception. It is an ever expanding discipline with tremendous potential for research. My research interests lie primarily in the areas of fluid mechanics in biological systems. These interests have burgeoned through opportunities to experiment and work with core chemical engineering concepts during under-graduation. My personal experience in using simulation software, optimizing flow processes and an inquisitiveness in modeling biological systems motivated me to pursue graduate studies in biomedical engineering. The Department of Biomedical Engineering at SUNY – Stony Brook blends high quality work and research facilities. It is indeed an honor to be part of this rich international conglomerate.
