Boston's Burning |

In Theater 216, students had to search the corners of their minds in order to obtain creativity and innovation. Through the use of new media, students were able to put their creativities to the test. The first project was a collage using Photoshop, which was the true test of a person's computer skills with their attention to detail. I created a picture which involved me standing over the Yankee Stadium's green heaven while burning hats came crashing from above with the simple burned out letter "B"; for the rivaling team, The Boston Red Sox. I Created a blend of different colors while ascentuating certain aspects of the picture, such as, the "NY" on my hat and the burning flames sparkling from each cascading hat. Through the use of new media, i blended 3 original pcitures; me, the burning hats, and the yankee stadium; into one picture as if it was reality and originally taken that way. I truly enjoyed this project because it was almost like all my efforts finally trickled down into a final masterpiece. |

...Cry Me A River... |
Next project was a Slideshow in which i created a story similar to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River". where a cheating girlfriend gets more than she bargained for. It took so many hours to do this project due to the fact i chose iMovie instead of iPhoto. I chose it because it had more nifty tricks and transitions between slides that really added power to my story. The new media used in this project was the use once again of computer programs to convey a story. iMovie was great, it took a long time, but it truly got the message across. Besides adding a few different ways to each picture and transition (such as "old film" or "earthquake"), i let the slides and pictures convey a distraughting story of love, violence and hate. | |

I Know What YOU Did Last Semester... |
|
The next and final project was the most interestingly adventurous one. The movie project, which my group named, "I Know What You Did Last Semester", was a chance for me and my peers to do a variety of things such as acting, filming, editing and so forth. I got a chance to be one of the main actors which was new for me because I'm not much of an actor; but it went surprisingly well. Our movie was about 20 minutes long, it had a dreadful plot blended with some humorous parts (including bloopers!). I was very proud of the movie because it came out nicely organized and very well edited. Everyone became a part of the project as we all frantically attempted to write a good story while getting all the right camera angles. Putting all these projects together i found out a lot about myself and my abilities. THR216 was a different experience for me because i didn't have to study, but i had to use my brain and dig into my abilities in order to form projects filled with innovation and originality. So, I'd like to say, thank you for opening my eyes to different ideas and methods of conveying messages without words. |
