Welcome To My Lovely Website!!!!

Theatre 216 was a great class,

although I may have not thought it would be, in the beginning. I took it to fill a DEC but learned so much

from it and even got a hobby out of it. I honestly did not know what I would be doing in this class exactly.

I didn't expect much out of this class when I started to take it. As the semester progress I learned so much

about the new media in today's age. Our first project was making a collage using photoshop. Before we

got started Joan showed us how magazines would use them to portray something completely not true of

celebrities. I never knew how people do it and how easy it was for them. I learned different ways in using

Photoshop. I find it amazing how any picture can get manipulated the way you want it. After getting the

hang of it, it actually was fun using Photoshop. Our second project was making a slideshow. This one I

have to say was one of my favorite. I went around Harlem, parts of Long Island and White Plains, and

snap pictures all over. But first I decided to use the song "Serious Times" by Gyptian, a Jamaican Artist.

I decided on this song because I loved it and I had a vision of what pictures I would have. The only hard

part of this project was having the lyrics in sync with the pictures at the right time. The program we use

was iPhoto and I also never used this before. It was pretty simple on learning how to use it. I definitely

think its a great new media to use. I honestly never new there was a program to do such a thing. Our

third project, making a movie, had to be the most time consuming, agonizing, but such a great

accomplishment at the same time. This project had made me find a new respect for directors, producers,

editors, actors, and actresses. My views had changed tremendously. After all the hard work I put into

this movie, seeing the final product was really rewarding. It was amazing how someone as regular as me

can use the program iMovie and iDVD and get a movie the way I did.

Media today has certainly change tremendously. More importantly my relationship to new media has

changed throughout the semester. It changed by me putting the effort into my project and by being open

to learning how to use the program. I have definitely took what I learned in Thr 216 and used it outside

of the class and will continue doing so.

I must say doing the Slideshow was great and the Movie was fun. Learning how to do these 2

projects definitely made me want to continue to make them with the moments I capture through out my

life. I can honestly say some classes I take and forget or take and don't really use much after but this one

I most certainly will!!
