For my first site assessment, I searched under the term "Boston Tea Party" using Altavista as my search engine. It returned with 1000 sites found. I then did a search under the same key term using the search engine Excite. Excite returned with 1,111 sites.
The first valuable site retrieved by Altavista was www.infonavigate.com/boston/147.htm. This site listed all information about the Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum. The second valuable site I found was www.vistel.com/tea/bosto2.htm. This site had a very good biography on the Boston Tea Party and a very interesting poem. The third valuable site I found was www.home.megalinx.net/~eplurib/boston.htm. This site also had an excellent biography and good links to other historic events in Colonial American times. This site was very descriptive.
The first valuable site retrieved by Excite was www.205.121.65.141/Millville/Teachers/Carles/carles96_97/Revolution/Boston Tea Party.htm. This site actually showed you how to make a "Boston Tea Party" game for your classroom. Another very interesting site was northport.k12.ny.us/~bellrose/fee/LI95/nelke.htm. This site gave a very detailed history of the Boston Tea Party aand also explained the Long Island version of 1776. A final great site was www.http://iquest.com/~rwhite/amerrevo.htm. This site gave a wonderful summary of the American revolution and had terrific links to other very informative sites involving this time in American History.
The first inappropriate site that I came up with using Altavista was wwww.webwiz.com/classified/kettle.htm. This site was a site that advertised tea kettles. The second irrelevant site was http://www.claras.com/walkthr9.html. This site actually gave the ingredients to an alcholic beverage called a "Boston Tea Party". The third inappropriate site was www.xs4all.nl/~btp/. This was a web site for all the information of a female Rock and Roll cover band and thier schedule.
The first irrevelvant site retrieved by Excite was www.physics.ucsc.edu/users/noc/Links/tea.html. This site focused on facts about tea. The second irrelevant site was www.livjm.ac.uk/fish/html/lyrics/boston.htm. This was the lyrics to a song called "Boston Tea Party" by a band named Fish. The third inappropriate site was www.msni.net/~gryn/6.htm. This was a sight about a rock band named Led Zepplin who had a venue called "Boston Tea Party".
