The students will write a biography about themselves and create it as if it was a webpage.

Describe to your students about the internet and what a webpage is. Have your student find Mark's Homepage on the web. Give the students time to read his page. Point out the autobiographical form that this 9 year-old-boy used. Have the students brainstorm about what they would like to have on their webpage. List on the board some of the great ideas they come up with. Then have the students draw up a webpage of their own using construction paper. Allow them to be creative and to add pictures. Display these on a bulletin board that you might wish to label "Look At Us on The Net" or "Class 5C's Homepage". This is a great getting-to-know each other writing activitity for the beginning of the year.
